Timeline

1770 - Said to have been founded, but early history is obscure.

1811 - Ground feued (rental tennanted) by John Haig.

1822 - Thomas Harvie.

1825-32 - Glasgow Distillery Co.

1832 - Glasgow distillery Co. sequestrated.

1834-35 - R. Harvey.

1837-41 - Thomas Harvie, Glasgow distillery.

1841-46 - Harveys, McFarlane & Co.

1846 -  Harveys, McFarlane & Co. dissolved and reconstructed as John & Robert Harvey & Co. The largest pot-still distillery in Scotland for many years.

1899 - A Coffey still was installed.

1902 - Distillery closed.

1903 - Purchased by the Distillers Company Ltd. (DCL) which dismantled the equipment and used the site as a store and cooperage.

1977 - Warehousing ceased.

1980 - Premises transferred to Scottish Grain Distillers Ltd. (SGD).
