Timeline

1824 - Founded by James McKilligan & Co. as the Mill of Banff Distillery near South Colleonard.

1836 - Mill of Banff Distillery dismantled and relocated to nearby Inverboyndie, where it was called Banff Distillery.

1837 - James McKilligan & Co. dissolved on the death of Major James McKilligan.

1837 - Alex Mackay.

1852 - James Simpson.

1860 - James Simpson & Son.

1863 - James Simpson & Son dissolved.

1863 - Banff distillery is closed and replaced by the new Banff distillery.
