Notes : Prior to becoming a distillery, the site was a calico print works. Following closure as a distillery, the site was re-purposed as a bleachworks, which operated until 1980.

 

Timeline

1827 - Distillery opened by James Paterson.

1827 - Distillery produced 829 gallons of spirit from Malt in the quarter to 5th April 1827.

1827 - Goold & Burns (Gold & Burns in Excise accounts).

1827 - Distillery produced 5,580 gallons of spirit from corn wash in year to 10th November 1828.

1828 - Distillery produced 1,917 gallons of spirit from corn wash in year to 10th November 1829. 

1828-29 - John Burns & Co.

1830 - John Burns & Co. sequestrated.

1830 - According to the Excise accounts the distillery had no output in the year to 10th November 1830.

1830 - Distillery closed.
