Notes : The design of the new distillery facilities was carried out by Charles C. Doig. This included the building of a dam across the Luther Water, the fitting of a water-driven turbine generator for electricity and a new iron bridge to enable horse-drawn carts to reach the distillery.*

 

Timeline

1895 - Converted from a flax-spinning mill (built in 1795) by the Auchinblae Distillery Co. Ltd., formed by 205 local people.

1916 - Company liquidated.

Distillery acquired by MacDonald, Greenlees & Williams (Distillers) Ltd. and work continued.

1926 - MacDonald, Greenlees & Williams (Distillers) Ltd. taken over by the Distillers Company Ltd. (DCL).

1930 - by 1930 the distillery is closed.
